Does anyone know about housing assistance and government assistance?
runnercaiti1 asked:
I am single, 18 weeks pregnant, and make about $400/week pre-taxes, or about 20,800 a year. I need to get out of my current situation FAST. Am I a good candidate and how long does the process take to apply and get help?

Are you in the US or Australia?
you have to be on a waiting list that can be as long as 2yrs before you can get one to open , they go by your income for rent amount, if a good reason and you are homeless sometimes you can be bumped up in line
Call your counties department of job and family services. They will tell you what the income guidelines are to be eligible in your state for assistance.
I dont think you’d qualify.
I work with housing assistant in the state of florida . If you will like to find the nearest office in your area go to the way it works Pretty much the more your expenses you have the more they help you. The program is defenally for single, married couples with very low income or just not enough. Also depending on the state you live in . Here were i am at there’s a 2 year waiting list.
Ps,. And if you sit on your ass at home and not work they pay for all your renting expenses .. funny but true..
Good luck if you need any additional questions please email me.
Your salary income could throw a hitch into it. But, Being pregnant, usually puts you at the top of the list.
In some states, the process(pregnancy not involved) can take up to 2yrs.
Im in Australia and i was on the waiting list for my government housing for 5 years, its a bloody joke! I drive around all the time seeing housing commission houses vacant everywhere but it still takes 5 years to house some people!!!!!
Not sure if this helps as i dont know whether you are in OZ or the US….
