I live in Jackson, Ms. and I am wondering what I need to do to apply for housing assistance?

rainbowglowgirl asked:

I am only 19 years old, 4 months pregnant and not employed, but I attend college full time (I am on financial aid). My boyfriend(father of my child) is working a minimum wage job. We are not currently living together, but after the baby comes we would like to get a place of our own, but there is no way we will be able to afford it without government help. I was able to get on medicaid and WIC so I’m pretty sure I’m eligible for this. Where do I need to go and what do I need to do to apply for housing assistance? Also, where would I apply for food stamps? Thanks for any information.

Go to the Dept of Human Services on Medgar Evers Blvd. They will be able to point you in the right direction. It is located on the corner of Northside Dr and Medger Evers Blvd
