Are there any government programs offering financial assistance?
MissFr3sh asked:
I have been unemployed for 10 months now and my unemployment insurance has run out. My credit cards are maxed; I cannot get a loan and have had no luck finding a job. (And yes I have looked, have had interviews, have registered with staffing agencies). I just applied for food stamps, but I am about to become homeless.

Contact the United Way Agencies in your community to explain your situation. They will know of social service and government agencies that you can turn to for assistance with housing, food, employment, counseling and support, etc. United Way is an awesome agency… worth a phone call, isn’t it?
Damn wish I could help, move to Australia here we get money from the government if your not working and its enough to live on, lots of people rely on it.
No. Contact Werner trucking. They will pay for your training in a contract. Then you pay off your training as you drive. You live in the truck and get paid at the same time. No rent. Good luck.http://www.werner.com/content/home/
Er. Isn’t unemployment insurance a financial assistance program? And why would you be looking for a loan when you’ve had no job for 10 months? Depending on your age you might consider joining the Air Force or Navy (if physically able) it beats living on the street. You don’t say what type of jobs you were seeking. Maybe you’re being too picky. Since you’re on the Internet try the State web-site for you state of residence.
salvation army they help people in trouble. It is really hard to apply for services, there is a long wait. I would try and call family and friends to take you in. You could try a local chruch. Good luck to you.
