Government Assistance in NY!1 Help my baby?

My BF and I got Laid Off right before our baby is due! I don’t know anything about this government assistance stuff, any website/ information about programs that might relieve the severity of this situation would greatly help. I live in Washington County Ny, I don’t even know where I have to go to apply for this kind of stuff.

    Go to your local social services department, you will definitely qualify for W.I.C., which is for women infants and children.

    You can start by looking in your local phone book under county services. If they have a Department of Social Services listed, call that number and they should be able to provide some helpful information.

    If you go to a job agency, they can usually get you a job within a few days.

    Why not get another job and try to pay your own way? It’s worked out for me so far, and I’m a single pregnant woman.

    There just isn’t a substitute for hard work and paying your own way.
